About Jose Arredondo
Jose was born July 29th, 1958, in Michoacán, Mexico. He was 8 of 11 childrent to the late Fidel and Maria Arredondo. He came to the United States when he was 12 and started washing cars and went on to become a car salesman, under the tutelage of a mentor. He later purchased various properties in Bakersfield in 1993, he was presented. with the first opportunity to own his first car dealership, Family Motors, which was followed by other car dealerships, real estate acquisitions, and other business ventures, a restaurant, radio stations, and a golf range to name a few.
Jose was a respected member of the community. He was a philanthropist and devoted his life to helping the poor, providing scholarships for students in need, and supporting many local charities. We will continue to keep his legacy alive!

The Jose Arredondo Foundation was created to honor the life and legacy of Jose Arredondo, a man who believed deeply in education, opportunity, and giving back to the community.
Jose understood that talent and determination exists everywhere, even when opportunity does not. He was especially committed to supporting students who faced financial hardships or uncertain circumstances yet carried big dreams and a strong desire to succeed. Through scholarships and mentorship, he helped removed barriers so students could focus on their education and their future.
One of Jose’s greatest joys was seeing students thrive knowing that a helping hand at the right moment could change the course of a life. His Generosity was not a one-time act, but a continued commitment to investing in people and believing in their potential.
Today, the Jose Arredondo Foundation continues that mission by providing scholarships and support to students who, like those Jose helped during his lifetime, are determined to build a better future despite the obstacles they face.
Through this foundation, Jose’s legacy lives on one student, one dream, and one opportunity at a time.
